FIGHT TO WIN KIDS

The Fight To Win kids program is centered around the Gracie Self-Defense system developed by Grand Master Helio Gracie over the past century.

Here children will learn basics in Jiu-Jitsu, judo, striking, self-discipline, personal wellness, and self-respect. Through careful instruction and functional games, children will learn the skills they need to build character and grow into budding young adults.

Why Should Your Child Learn Gracie Jiu Jitsu?

Unlike traditional striking martial arts that rely on strength and size, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu concept of leverage allows students to defeat much larger and stronger opponents. This coupled with the fact that most fights, including confrontations with bullies, end up on the ground, makes Jiu-Jitsu the most effective martial art for children.

Class sizes are small enough that every child is getting a lot of personal attention. Enroll your children now to take advantage of this valuable and potentially life-saving opportunity to learn Gracie Jiu Jitsu from the only Royce Gracie Certified Black Belt Team in Charlotte.

A personal note from Steve Hall. “Kids are the future. I have two young boys as well, so I understand that it is a hard decision to choose your child’s path in life. Being part of the FTW team is being part of a bigger family. Our goal is to help your child grow into a happy healthy young adult, and have a lot of fun doing it. BJJ is not just something to do, it is a lifestyle.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the ages?

We run classes for ages 5-9 years old for our Young Warriors, and 10-15 years old for our Teens and Pre-Teens. At 15 years old we encourage the kids to start training with the adults full time. If your child is on the line for age we always encourage pushing them up to promote more independence. Bring them for a free class to see if it’s a good fit.

How do we get started?

Just come in! Gym cloths, flip flops and a bottle of water are all you need. The first class is free to get to know the instructors and the other kids to see if it is something your child wants to continue training. We do ask that you fill out the “GET STARTED” form before showing up. Our program does fill up, so to cut down on confusion we will give you a day to come in. We also want you in 10 minutes before class starts so we can fill out the waiver for your child.

Is there a contract?

No, but we do a continual draw. We commit 100% of ourselves to your child so we ask the same of you. The week to week agreement is a continual draw until notice of cancellation is given. Six month and year contracts are optionally available to lower the price, but to get the discount it is a full term commitment.

How do promotions work?

Kids are eligible for promotion once a quarter. Each child must have a minimum of 20 class hours between each promotion. Each belt has 4 stripes, so the child may receive a new belt every five quarters ( 1 year 3 months).  The belt system we follow is listed below for a child starting the program at 6 years old.

Older children may “skip” the 1/2 belts due to time left until 16. The adult belt system starts at blue belt when the child reaches 16 years old. There are no exceptions to this rule.
